Excellent Friday!
I’ve had a great day today! ^^ I only had to work six hours because I had an interview at UPS! It’s a UPS warehouse…but a better job, nonetheless. I also got hired! I will start towards the end of February (26th), working 2nd shift (2:30-11), making $10.70 an hour! That’s a four dollar and seventy cent raise (nearly five dollars)! 
And…they’re ok with their employees having facial piercings! That means a monroe for me. ;D
I’m not sure what I’ll be doing but I know that there will be required overtime and some weekend work. Oh well, more money for me. It will also be only during the summer..until school starts. So I’ll be saving up tons of money. :3
Speaking of school..I haven’t finished my portfolio. >< I slacked off a bit these past few days. I’m very upset with myself about it so I’m about to get off the computer now and finish it up so I can send it off tomorrow. I’ll also have to find a way to fax a letter to my school to have them send my official transcripts to UofL. Ugh. It’s just so hard to get to a fax. Mainly because we’re a family of four sharing one vehicle. I don’t want to hog the Rodeo too much. I know they need it also. Hell, it belongs to Billy’s mom. I am very greatful to how much she lets us use it. She has been really patient with us. Possessing on patience that comes with motherhood. ;p
Oh yes! Another upper about today: it was pay day! More money for me. Yay. Now Monday I get to put in my two weeks notice! Tomorrow Billy and I have to get started on fixing my car so I can have it when I start my new job. <3
One more thing. I got my taxes done. I should be receiving my tax return money very soon. So many good things. ^^

Oh that is great! UPS has wonderful benefits – get on the insurance as soon as you can. I have also heard that they have a good program to help their employees go to school, so be sure to ask about that too when the time come. I’m so proud of you!!!!!

Grats on the job! Nice that they allow facial piercings. I find the fact that many works forbid piercings upsetting because most of them don’t want their employees to have any because “it doesn’t look good”. I understand that you can’t have any if you work in a kitchen or something but forbidding piercings because of the way they look… I think they just have a lot of prejudices. Hopefully in twenty years or so piercings will be accepted.
Tax money is good money – and of course, so is ‘new job money’. Way better than no money and a lot better than fake money. (We had a rash of fake 20’s come through last year in case you’re wondering about relevance.) I figured UPS was pretty lax on their rules because they aren’t really selling a product so much as people are in need of a product they offer so they don’t have to whore themselves too badly. Congrats on the job and I hope it works out for you.
That’s great about your job. I wish I could find a job like that. But there’s no good places like that around my town cause its so freaking small hehe. I hope that you will like your job
